Chair 001 signifies that there will be many more to come. This is the first chair made while in my masters program at RISD. It is all steel and hand made. The solid bar frame was TIG welded and finished to a high level, with a lacquer coat to prevent oxidation. The seat and back were made from cold rolled sheet steel, then using a bead-roller the detail was added to the surface, then bent using a finger break and seams welded to provide rigidity and strength. Then using an industrial pizza oven an even and consistence heat patina was applied before sealing with a several coats of lacquer.
